Job Description     

Responsible primarily for driving a heavy goods vehicle to carry out the scheduled deliveries in a safe and courteous manner. Must be able to assemble, and lift all items for delivery, and works in warehouse when not on deliveries. Ensure all internal and external customers receive exemplary customer service and receive a positive store/brand experience.

Essential Functions          

  1. Ensure all furniture for delivery is inspected, assembled and packaged for delivery in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations. 
  2. Drives carefully while obeying all traffic laws to complete the customer delivery schedule on time including the placement of items and assembly in the customer’s premises. 
  3. Maintains vehicle cleanliness, i.e. washing of trucks, cleaning of interior cabin.
  4. Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries. Greet customers courteously, answer questions, and handle any delivery-related inquiries or concerns in a friendly and helpful manner.
  5. When required, under supervision of Warehouse Supervisors, receives inbound container shipments, counts, and reconciles receipts against Transfer Orders, maintains storage of all inventories in warehouse.
  6. Maintains warehouse standards are met and maintained, i.e., visuals, cleanliness, signage, safety, etc.
  7. Comply with company Health & Safety Policy and attend Occupational Health & Safety Training.
  8. Additional duties that may be assigned as necessary and reasonably expected within the scope of the position.

Requirements         

  • Valid truck driver license and clean driving record.
  • Must be over the age of 25.
  • At least two years of experience as a delivery truck driver is preferred.
  • Completion of Secondary School with 5 CXC passes.
  • Ability to achieve results both independently and through others by fostering a spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage delivery schedules.
  • Availability to work shifts as required, including Saturdays and Sundays when inventory management is required.
  • Ability to lift and mobilize medium to large items, up to 150 lb., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques.
