Job Description
The Junior Interior Designer will play a key role in delivering exceptional interior design services
within the Dwellings Design Studio. This role focuses on creating bespoke interiors, offering
professional client consultations, and managing projects from concept to completion. The
Junior Interior Designer will collaborate with the Design Studio Manager and wider team to
ensure the highest standards of service, creativity, and client satisfaction.
Essential Functions
1. Client Consultations: Meet with clients in-store or on-site to understand their needs,
preferences, budget, and timelines, translating these into tailored interior solutions.
2. Design Development: Create design concepts under the guidance of the Design Studio
Manager, ensuring alignment with client needs, aesthetic preferences, and budget
constraints.
3. Visual Presentations: Prepare compelling visual proposals, including sample boards,
mood boards, and floor plans.
4. Project Management: Manage individual projects by selecting suitable products,
preparing proposals, and ensuring timely delivery and installation.
5. Sales Proposals: Develop cost estimates and sales proposals using company
approved tools. Ensure all purchase orders for special items are accurately tracked and managed.
6. Installation Coordination: Collaborate with the staging team to install furnishings and
accessories in accordance with approved designs.
7. Customer Service: Maintain a professional and client-focused approach, ensuring
client accounts, orders, and records are up to date.
8. Collaboration: Work closely with Customer Service, Warehouse, and Installation Teams
to resolve issues and meet project deadlines.
9. In-Store Support: Assist the store team with high-value clients, providing expert
guidance on product selection and completing sales processes.
10. Marketing Support: Partner with the Marketing Team to promote the Design Studio
through events and campaigns, showcasing its services to a wider audience.
Requirements
• Certification in Interior Design or a related field.
• Experience in interior design or a similar role is an asset.
• Working knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong understanding of space planning and the ability to read floor plans.
• Creative problem-solving skills with a keen eye for design.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet
deadlines.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• You must own reliable transport to visit client locations.
